What's new here?

13.10.11 I'm still alive

Screenshot-Launch-thumb.jpg I published my last news on 27.5.06 - that's over 5 years ago! Today I want to give you a signal from me. Meanwhile a lot of things happened.
In between I'm 23 and studying aerospace computer science at the University of Würzburg. Since then, I haven't build any LEGO robots. But in 2008, I constructed a soccer bot out of "real" electronics, aluminium and acrylic glass for my skilled work in my last yoear of school.
I've also already come in touch with more professional robots in my studies. Looking back, building with LEGO has really helped my with this.
Now I often make websites, not only for me. Thus I finally has time to publish my own new homepage - Franework ist Franz@work :-)

28.3.06 RoboCup Junior and NXT

RoboCup.jpg As promised, there's a bigger update today:
In the robots section at Soccer you will find my RoboCup Junior Soccer 1 vs 1 robot, described very detailed. Addidtionately there's a small picture gallery of the qualification tourney in Vöhringen.
Finally there's a new category "Mindstorms NXT" in the Favorites section with some related links, because I'm also one of the chosen for the "Developer Program".

17.1.06 Mindstorms Board

Forums-News.png Unfortunately I neglected Mindstorms in the past time a bit, that's why there haven't been new robots on the homepage. But at the moment, I'm at the construction of a new soccer-bot, which I will hopefully upload soon.
In spite, there have been some news in the Mindstorms-world:
As most of you have recognized, there will be a successor of the RIS in autumn, the NXT. Further info on the official homepage and the official blog.
What many have surely missed, is the reopening of the Mindstorms Board. They are for sure worth more than one visit.
Who hasn't registered his RCX (this is necessary to come into the forums) does this here. The others arrive the forums directly with the following link:

16.10.05 New survey

266 votes at the 2nd survey about the used programming language are quite a lot. The result can be found here. Clear winner is NQC, far behind on place 2 and 3 are the RIS and brickOS.
Now there is a new survey, due to me being interested in your age.
Additionately lately I've added some links to the favorites.

Sammy-News.jpg It's finally done, roboshow.de has a new design.
Of course, the page isn't completely ready, but this will be changed in the next days and weeks.
So, stopping by is worthwhile.
Please notify me, in the case you have graphical failures or you find a typo.

Have fun with the page

All robots, that I took photos of, can now be seen on my homepage. New ones are uploaded as fast as possible, of course.

Fussball_News.jpg I asserted, that my small soccer bot hadn't been shown here; so I uploaded it now.
Additionately, I finally filled up the "Tricks" section.

21.11.04

Chat-News.jpg Inspirated by Nero, I programmed a Mindstorms "grapevine", that can be broadened by you.
I started with my numbers.

Xmas-News.jpg A neat idea to make your screen "christmas-capable".
The inspiration for this came out of the new LEGO Shop at Home catalogue.

If you want to treat me, inscribe into the guestbook or add your contact datas to the Mindstorms grapevine.

05.1.05

Sammlung-News.jpg Now that the stressful time is over, a bigger update:
First, I added three new links to the favorite-section, two at Miscellaneous and one at Programming.
Second, I dissambled my Simon Says Bot partly, what made it possible for me to take some pictures of its "inner life".
Finally, I don't want to keep my LEGO collection back to you, so I photographed it.

22.1.05 Counter

I made a terrible mistake:
While removing double entries, I pressed the wrong button and all entries were deleted.
I had made the last backup over a month ago, so the counter shows more than 600 visitors less :-(

19.2.05 CC8

CC8-News.jpg CC8 has finished and I've taken part again. The task was to build a coin-sorter.
I've just uploaded pixtures and the description.

21.2.05 New poll

After updating the poll-script, I added a new one.
Unfortunately the design is not quite space-saving, so I can give only 5 options. Who programs with RoboLab, pbForth, etc. has to elect "others".
I am excited for the results!

25.6.05 Version 3 - now also in English

It has needed months, but the work was worth while (I think): The new design with new functions went online!
It offers more space, is more clearly laid out and more intuitive.
Additionally, about what especially "foreigners" (are there those in the internet?) will be glad, the whole side is also available in English.
Surely, there are still some mistakes, mainly in the English language, which I am going to correct (with your help!) in the course of time. For example the gecko-engine has partly problems with the design.

Please write me, how the new design appeals to you or when you find mistakes.

27.7.05 I two-timed...

Undestroyable-News.jpg I left the "LEGO-world" for one week and dropped to Fischertechnik.
See yourself what has come out!
At this occasion I also want to remind, that a newsletter is available, regretfully only one person has signed in yet :-/

14.8.05 FLL No Limits robot

No_Limits-News.jpg I also built a robot for last-years FLL competition "No Limits", but didn't compete.
However I think, that you can collect many inspirations and ideas from the pictures in spite.
